WKDA - The goal is e-commerce

The company "Wirkaufendeinauto.de", or WKDA for short, founded in Berlin in 2012, was well received as a platform that takes any vehicle quickly and easily in payment. Via Auto1.com, a B2B platform, these were resold by the Auto-1 Group. Since February it is now also possible to offer WKDA's own vehicles for sale directly, without any middlemen. But can the platform also gain a foothold in the vehicle market with this?

Many retailers and consumers wanted to take this step to be able to process all requests directly on one platform. The customers who have just given their car in exchange naturally need a new vehicle afterwards, but the Customer Journey has so far ended at the point of the completed sale. Now it is possible to buy a new vehicle directly from WKDA, which saves a lot of travel and above all time.

The purchase of vehicles sold to WKDA was previously also possible, but only via Auto1.com. This intermediate step in the supply chain has now been removed and the customer has direct access to all cars purchased from WKDA. The platform now mediates end customers to dealers and vice versa.

Under the umbrella of the Auto-1 Group mentioned at the beginning, not only WKDA is located as a full-service provider in vehicle sales. The platform Auto1.com gives the sellers the opportunity to auction their vehicles to dealers. It is a professional pan-European marketplace where both buying and selling can take place and where a sophisticated logistics chain works in the background.

Auto Hero serves as a platform for offering used cars that are accident-free, have a well-groomed chequebook and, of course, are TÜV-approved. The buyer receives both a warranty on his purchased vehicle and a right of return.

The Auto-1 Group set itself the task of developing into a 360-degree service provider for used vehicles and to integrate the basic idea of e-commerce into the used car business, making direct sales via the Internet possible. Robert Lasek, the managing director of Auto1.com, speaks of an "online shopping experience" that should be made possible for the customer.

The high brand awareness that WKDA brought to the Auto-1 Group makes the start of this new phase much easier. Millions of people visit the online platform every month and are now witnessing first hand how the used car buyer becomes a representative for the entire vehicle market, which can be used by both sellers and private customers. The market will contain a wide range of price and equipment categories, so that vehicles of all kinds can be bought and sold and as many customers as possible can take advantage of the benefits of WKDA. Apart from the uncomplicated selling and purchasing of vehicles without any annoying intermediate steps and the online service, WKDA stands out due to its freedom from fees. There are neither monthly costs for the sales request and the associated creation of an advertisement, nor is there the possibility of prioritising offers within the lists for a fee. The focus is purely on fair vehicle trade.
