Clever idea: Car subscriptions at AutoScout24
The online marketplace AutoScout24 is attracting attention with a new idea: from now on the platform also offers a subscription to cars. The company is thus following the latest trend. The highlight of this type of vehicle marketing: customers do not own the car, but they can use it. This is a new option that offers a great deal of freedom, comfort and safety, promises Jochen Kurz, Director Product at Autoscout 24.
In contrast to modern car sharing or classic rental, which is primarily intended for quick and short-term use of vehicles, the car subscription offers a higher degree of flexibility. On the other hand, the customer does not have to lease or even buy the car. Instead, he or she is entitled to a detailed right of use, which even includes all costs such as vehicle tax, registration or insurance. Only the refuelling has to be paid for by the customer.
Placement only: No own service
At least in the initial phase, however, AutoScout24 offers the service as nothing but its own service. Instead, the company is working with various providers who will take over the processing of car subscriptions for the online marketplace. These include the providers Like2Drive and Cluno. In the coming months and until the end of the year, however, the company promises that this range of vehicle marketing on AutoScout24 will be steadily expanded.
Depending on the provider, there are differences in the contract term and exchange modalities as well as the prices of the monthly flat rate. All service providers are presented and compared on the online site of AutoScout24. However, it is not possible to conclude a subscription via the marketplace; the customer can only contact the provider and agree all the details via the cooperation partners' own platform.
Favourable example: VW Up
When choosing a car, it makes no difference whether the customer needs a city runabout, a sports car or a van. However, the costs vary depending on the car. One of the cheapest vehicles that a customer can currently obtain via the platform is the Volkswagen Up. A monthly installment of between 200 and 250 euros is payable for this small car. For a high-priced BMW, more than 1,000 euros per month are already due.
Which offer is the right one, each customer should decide for himself according to his needs. For example, depending on the subscription, different free kilometres or starting fees are included. And there are both new and used cars. The minimum age of the drivers also plays a role. With some providers, the vehicle can even be replaced regularly. A clever idea: The offer of a car subscription is varied and useful.
