13th Used Car Congress: Used car market becomes more and more professional

The 13th Used Car Congress of AUTOHAUS and Dekra dealt with current issues in the used car business. In front of around 150 participants, top-class speakers dealt with topics such as sources of supply, price determination, the own used-vehicle brand and vehicle preparation.

A panel discussion led by AUTOHAUS publisher Prof. Hannes Brachat examined the current situation of the used car market. The consensus: On the one hand, the used car business is becoming more and more professional, while on the other hand the complexity and the requirement radius of the business model is increasing due to the Internet and the increasingly enlightened customer. In addition, it must be taken into account that the sale of used new cars represents an important sales channel for manufacturers and importers. Burkhard Weller, head of the Weller Group, summarized the situation in the vehicle market as follows: "We are not in a crisis, but rather a changed market situation to which we must adapt in order to continue to be successful in the future.

pixelconcept was represented on site by Torben Ullmann, managing director, and the performance managers Alexander Herwig and Olaf Palm. Visitors were able to inform themselves and exchange information in personal talks on topics such as professional vehicle marketing, car dealership lead management or CI-compliant vehicle image optimisation.

Despite the expected challenges, around seven million transfers of ownership and stable residual values are also expected in 2015. So it is hardly surprising that, according to a Puls survey, two thirds of dealers are in good spirits when it comes to used car business in 2015.
